L is for the way you look at me.

Did anybody have a really neat Valentines Day experience?

Some people love this day while others think its silly. I am on the love side, a day that reminds you to say I Love You is so important. A reason to stop the routine and show the one you love, you love them.

Paty and I have had many traditions, first we went out to dinner on V Day, realizing how busy and expensive restaurants are, we started to go out on the night before or after. However, it still felt busy. So now we cook at home, I love it. This year Paty's sister and husband came over, we drank to much wine and just fellowshiped in its finest form.

I was just talking to some other teachers who told me about some of their great traditions. One teacher goes to Shoneys every year. She said they go once a year, on this day and love it. Another teacher goes to Baja Burrito, she said its her favorite place to eat, so they go every year. Nobody ever said you had to spend money, just be genuine.

I also think I miss the beat each year. I focus so much on reminding Paty That I love him that I tend to forget that his is a great day to tell mom, dad, friends and so on that I love them too.

Guess today I have to make up for yesterday.

I love you!!!

Only what who Can Handle?

Happy Valentines Day!!

Love is in the air and so is some free time! I have been wanting to blog about this and I have found the perfect time. How many times have you said or heard the phrase, God only gives you what you can handle? I have to admit, I have said it at least 10 times if not more in my life. Well, last Sunday at CrossPoint, Pastor Pete talked briefly on this thought.

He said to all of us who use this phrase, have you ever read the bible??? The bible is full of situations where God has given the people of the bible more than they can handle.

Why is this?
If we could handle everything, why would we need to rely on God? He is there to help us when those situations arise that are so much bigger than we are.

So where is the confusion coming from? We can blame that on Corinthians. The verse says that we will not be tempted beyond what we can handle. So we can say no to any temptation that we come across but that's not to say we can do it without help from our Lord.

The Verse
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. (1 Corinthians 10:13 NIV)

Additionally I ask you to all check out the band Caleb. I don't know how to share music from my phone but they played at church and were incredible.

Not the best video... But enjoy!
